History
American rock band formed in California in 1983 but thrust into the mainstream in 1991 with their fifth album 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' which sold over 13 million copies.
After their subsequent album 'One Hot Minute' (1995) failed to sell as well, the band took a break, re-forming in 1998 to produce the 'Californication' album (1999). This went on to be their most successful album to date, selling over 15 million units worldwide.
Since then the band have continued this success. They have won seven Grammy Awards and have sold over fifty million albums worldwide.
