Here’s a laugh and we all need one on a Monday!
The ‘Music Industry’ no doubt had to embrace other forms of revenue in these tough digital days and one (of the many) examples is the use of artists in advertising. Take the Iggy Pop / Swift Cover relationship…. Iggy’s been used in some funky creative to attract the attention of a younger audience - sorry we aren’t going to promote the advert further - you can find it yourself on Google if you really need to!
So what I hear you ask? Well, this one piece of music industry collaboration may have back-fired and for the insurance company too which is GREAT NEWS!!
The car insurance market like many UK finance product sectors is very lucrative for the priviliged few (thats the finance companies of course!) and they can afford to throw their cash about when driving new business to their website/call centres, dipping in and out of the music/entertainment industries at will - they have no f**king interest whatsoever in the art just the demographic reach - but hey the finance industry in the UK is ran by some professional people (AKA c**ts) who know their stuff and have absolutely nothing to do with the current financial problems faced by many in the UK!
These guys are marketing guru’s! And they so frequently blind us with their marketing spells & potions…the great British public have no chance….are like lambs to the slaughter. Ripped off by small print, middlemen and all that other crap…
Check this out…Swift Cover who use a MASSIVE man of rock n roll as the face of their advertising campaign appear to be LESS interested in musicians when it comes to actually insuring one!!
Yeah thats right, according to reports in the Evening Standard (and other UK press) these pr**ks at Swiftcover hadn’t really thought this one through and they won’t insure musicians - apparently we’re too high risk. That could probably mean something like ‘they don’t make enough money out of us’. Oh dear I think the funky new brand might be a little red faced and rightly so.
I’m sure Iggy has been paid a king’s ransom but a certain comedy sketch by the legend that was Bill Hicks springs to mind!! (Go You Tube him if you in the dark)
We can’t stop laughing at this one…I AM THE PASSENGER running through the speakers as we write….and LAUGH!
