A FREE Festival…of sorts…is coming soon with iTunes offering totally free tickets to their event which sees a full calender month’s of gigs at Camden’s Roundhouse starting July 1st.
You can’t buy tickets for this one and everybody with an internet connection can enjoy the bands as recordings will be available for download from iTunes (of course). It’s unclear if these live recordings will be free at this stage.
I think we can all see that this event is stretching the definition of what we call a festival…there’s no camping, muddy fields etc but still it’s an interesting event. Sure the “festival” is about brand awareness and driving traffic to the UK’s leading download store but for those able to get to the Roundhouse easy enough there is the chance to catch some great live music for nitto!
Bands include Oasis, Bat for Lashes, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Kasabian and err Flo Rida and The Saturdays - you gotta get that demographic reach eh? More announcements will follow.
There will be numerous competitions over the month of June to drive awareness, capture data and provide free gig tickets too. iTunes have set up a Facebook page and you can register your interest there if you fancy your chances of winning tickets.
