The Guardian gives ‘props’ to GYEO!

For those that have checked out our most recent articles you’ll know we attended the Music Hack Day event this weekend at The Guardian’s offices - and for those that don’t, well you do now!

It was a good weekend and made even better to see that earlier today The Guardian commented very positively on our hack which was designed to provide relevant 7digital MP3 streaming and Guardian Music News to users.  Our plug-in searches for known music artists within ANY website’s content, and adds links to streaming MP3 and Music News content via a little overlay box.

Bringing relevant audio and text content together intelligently you can find out more about an artist and listen to music (and then go buy if you like) without interupting the users initial page view - we knocked together the plug-in in about 8 hours with most of the work done by one guy - our main developer Jonesy, so we’re particularly pleased!

You can check out the comments from The Guardian here and you can read our summary on the Music Hack Day site here.

We’ll get back to out own website now and we will release a much improved gig search engine soon, that’s guaranteed.

Let us know what you think of the hack too.
