It’s been banned in Birmingham cinema’s and C4 have ran news features already containing actors from the film taking offence at their film not being shown in Birmingham. Why?
It’s the sort of publicity you can’t buy these days. The interest in the film is gonna spread if that coverage continues - no doubt. The action taken by the cinemas means people like us write about the film even though we ain’t seen it in full yet!
1 Day goes out at cinemas tonight across the country and tells the tale of 2 gangs from Birmingham with one man the focus - it’s 24 hours, a day in the life set to the fine soundtrack of British urban music composed by Urban Monk, MA Starkey and Jawbone - so check out the 1 Day website if it sounds interesting to you or go check out the film too.
The truth is this sounds like a film that is different, that hasn’t been done before - OK gangs in movies is nothing special but the context is different and the music lightens the potential for this to be seen as a dark-side movie. It’s a film that is real yet entertaining and from checking out the extensive promo clips we think it will be well received particularly by those that are fans of musical genre aswell. So don’t believe the hype and go watch the musical movie at your local cinema this weekend…unless you live in Birmingham of course.
