You have probably heard of Truck Festival as it’s 12 years old now and relatively speaking - pretty well established - so from the people behind that great music event comes a new “greener, folkier and cleaner” festival…now they’ve got WOOD!!
OK we can dig the green credentials and nobody likes those awful toilets at Glasto so the promise of a clean festival is appealing… we’ll reserve judgment on what families (the kids from those families at least!) think about the heavy plug from their press release for total folk music though?! Joking aside it’s a real worthy shout that WOOD can claim to be the UK’s greenest festival; it’s powered on renewable energy, uses the power of the sun (Sun in May…in England?!), the wind (that’s more like it!), has decomposing toilets (No Portaloos!) and the stage is made of WOOD… Get it?
The event promises to be an intimate affair with the capacity set at 800, taking place from May 21st to May 23rd in the beautiful surroundings of Brazier Park, Oxfordshire. We totally applaud the rise of ’boutique’ festivals to counter balance the sanitised feel and over branding seen at more established mainstream events we could name.
No news on the line up yet which is a shame but it has been announced that amongst many site activities there will be an on-site make shift pub….an absolute must we’re sure you’ll agree….but we’re sorry to say it’s called The Hippy Arms! Surely they could be a little more creative?
Fancy something different then get on this quickly - we are sure it will sell out quick. Enjoy.
